2025 Awards Banquet

MSVFD celebrated its 74th annual awards banquet, hosted at the Grandview Hotel in Manitou Springs. This event is an opportunity to honor the achievements and milestones of the individuals that make up the Manitou Springs Fire Department, as well as thank the community and family members that support the organization.

James Crowl was recognized for having completed the most number of training hours, totaling 277 hours.

The following individuals responded to over 35 fire (non-medical) responses in their time with MSFD, and received the historic “red jacket”: James Crowl, Anthony Lara, and David Tomlinson

Firefighters received patches for their total number of fire call responses over their years of service:

  • 100: David Crawford, James Crowl, and Anthony Lara

  • 200: Newt Dunblazier

  • 300: Amanda Malinaric

  • 800: Andrew Winchell

  • 900: Keith Buckmiller and Josh Maul

  • 1200: Randy Perkins

  • 2400: Linda Radice

The following individuals have reached milestone years of service:

  • 10 years: Chris Byrne

  • 20 years: David Combs

Firefighter James Crowl received MSFD’s Firefighter of the Year award, in recognition for his outstanding service and dedication to the organization. James was unable to attend the Awards Banquet, so his daughter accepted the award on his behalf. The award was custom created by Chad Minniger for MSFD.

Special recognition was given to John Forsett for his years of tireless effort that resulted in a training structure being built in Manitou Springs for firefighters to learn and improve their skills on. The training structure will have a plaque mounted to it in honor of Forsett.
