25 years on,
We climb to remember.
Come together with fellow first responders to hike the Manitou Incline in honor and recognition of those who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11. We’ll gather at 0630 at the base of the Incline, share a few words in remembrance, and then begin the hike.
The hike will begin at 0646, the exact time American Flight 11 hits the North Tower and emergency services began their response.
At key times on the hike, we’ll pause for a moments of silence:
7:03 AM – United Flight 175 hits the South Tower
7:37 AM – American Flight 77 hits the Pentagon
7:59 AM – The South Tower collapses
8:03 AM – United Flight 93 crashes into a field in Pennsylvania
8:28 AM – The North Tower collapses
Whether you’re a structural or wildland firefighter, EMT or paramedic, law enforcement officer, military, or other first responder, we invite you to remember the final moments of the responders and civilians lost on 9/11. First responders are welcome to hike in fitness gear with a department shirt, wildland gear, or bunker gear (SCBA optional).
We anticipate a large turnout of first responders, so we kindly ask that civilians wanting to hike in memory of 9/11 wait until later in the day.
